Tad Sae Waterfalls

One of the most attractive places in Luang Prabang is Tad Sae Waterfall, with wide stream of jade-like water flowing through the jungle and over limestone rocks. There are many more streams of water which cascade and make a thunderous sound following plenty of rain.

The falls run over beautiful limestone formations across a variety of levels into large pools below, which are fantastic to swim in and offer great photo opportunities, so lots of locals and tourists come here to enjoy swimming and leisure picnics along the waterfall.

Tad Sae Waterfall is only reached by boat, making it quite an adventure. At the entrance there are a group of elephants you can ride and feed, convenient if you can't be bothered going on a formal tour to one of the nearby elephant camps.
