Floating Market of Ywama

Floating Market is the most famous and the main attraction at Ywama village, which was the first village to be developed for tourism and now has the greatest number of souvenir shops and restaurants.

The Floating Market, held once every five days, is full of tourist boats and souvenir hawkers with a few local farmers peddling vegetables in among the crowds. And during the week, the floating market moves on to quieter destinations. Visiting one of the other villages on the five-day circuit can see a quieter market without the crowds.

In addition, a land-based five-day market is also a good choice for you to know more about the local life. It rotates among the lakeshore villages of Kaung Daing, Maing Thauk, Nampan, Inthein and Than Taung, gathering many tribal people from the hills.
