Queen Sirikit Botanical Gardens

Built in 1993 By the Botanic Gardens Organization of Thailand, Queen Sirikit Botanical Gardens, originally named the Mae Sa Botanic Garden, serve as a center of Thai flora for botanical study and research, to render services concerning bio diversity and environmental conservation, as well as an aesthetic place for the general public. 

Located in the Mae Sa area about 20km from Chiang Mai with an area of 1000 hectares, the gardens has a variety of glasshouses for various groups of Thai flora including a house dedicated to carnivorous plants. 

The main glass house displays the plants from the tropical rain forest with a raised walk way and waterfall. The Gardens are opened from 8:30am to 5pm every day.
